So onto the latest little browser based online game I’ve been playing, UrbanDead.

The site blurb for the game is: “Urban Dead is a low-tech massively-multiplayer zombie apocalypse game where the living and the undead compete for the control of a quarantined city”. So think Resident Evil or Dawn of the Dead or ... well anything with zombies in it really. Players can choose to play as either a zombie or a human survivor. Each have their own set of skills they can learn after gaining enough experience.

Since I’m a good guy I’m playing as a human, a scientist in fact. So far I’ve been running around the city and getting DNA samples of the zombies before returning to a safe-house. My first aid skills have come in use too and I’ve been patching up the tough guys who go out seeking zombies to kill. In fact the first aid skills were so useful my first additional skill was Diagnosis so I can see who needs healing and patch them up with bandages and the like scavenged from hospitals.

Interesting to note that you’re not exactly stuck as a human or zombie, there are ways to be transformed from one to the other. It’s good simple fun ... with zombies!
