Tekken the P*ss

WorkTommy and I often discuss games and aside from a few differences, we like the same kind of games. For a while we’ve been boasting about our 1337 skillz to each other, specifically with regards to the Tekken games. I should point out that I don’t have 1337 skillz; I like the Tekken games and I’m okay at them. Boasting to WorkTommy is fun though.

After a couple of months of this, we decided it was time to sort the men from the boys and have our own Iron Fist tournament. Rules of the game were team versus team, 8 fighters, random choice, best of three. We added forfeits the loser would have to do, including saluting and calling the other “Sir” for one day. The tournament was arranged for Thursday last week and the run up to the day was full of lots of “You’re going down!!” comments whenever we passed each other...I even made a banner saying that, walked up to him and opened it up in front of him before walking off.

Come Thursday night, there I was waiting and waiting and wondering if I’d not heard him knocking, he didn’t turn up.

At work on the Friday I encountered him and he apologised and said something came up. This was translated by me as “I was so scared of your 1337 skillz and didn’t want to embaress myself so I hid like a coward in a corner and cried”. One of the rules we’d came up with is that if one person backed out then it was the equivalent of a loss. So all day on Friday, WorkTommy was subjected to lots of “Looooser” gibes and lots of very bad “Tekken” puns such as “You’re Tekken your time there Tommy”.

Current undefeated Iron Fist Tournament Champion signing off…
